WHO WE ARE
It all began with a shack and some trees...
John Coward grew up working on his dad's farm and raising shade tobacco in Massachusetts. When he fell in love and married Teresa, they both decided to purchase a piece of property in 1985 to start their own tobacco fields and create a Christmas tree farm. Not only would their focus be on raising quality trees, but also to provide customers with a wonderful, seasonal experience. It all started with a shack and some trees, but quickly grew from there...
In 2008, John and Teresa purchased another plot of land at 150 College Highway in Southwick to build their famous gift shop barn with a few employees. In 2013, the Cowards decided to try their hand at flowers, herbs, and shrubs, so they built a couple of greenhouses on the four acres.
Now, the Cowards have about a dozen employees, helping them grow quality plants and trees. With a large greenhouse, they offer a vast selection of annuals and perennials just up to the 4th of July each year. In the fall, the colder weather provides pumpkins, mums, cornstalks, and more. Lastly, but definitely not least, the farm has "pick and cut" your own Christmas trees, wreaths, kissing balls, and other festive decorations. John and Teresa also have two children, Jr. John and Kate, as well as their fury farm mascot pup-- Remington, or Remi.
In 2019, the farm will be expanding, yet again by doubling their flower shopping area with another customer-accessible greenhouse.
